I am just days away from participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in NYC and I need your help.
The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a 39.3 mile fundraising walk through the streets of New York City over two days.
Breast cancer was an abstract thing to me before it stole my Mother-in-Law, Maria, in 1999. I will be walking in memory of my Mother-in-Law, and to fight breast cancer before it can come for my wife and three daughters.
I am less than $ 500 away from my goal of $ 15,000 raised to fight breast cancer. Will you join me in the fight?
Here are examples from the Avon Foundation on the impact from various levels of donations…
- $ 125 helps four homebound breast cancer patients receive nutritious meals while undergoing treatment
- $ 200 helps an uninsured person access life-saving tests, such as a mammogram or a bone scan to see if breast cancer has spread
- $ 500 helps two uninsured breast cancer patients access chemotherapy treatment
- $ 1,000 helps a new patient receive blood work to determine the best course of treatment for their particular breast cancer
- $ 1,800 supports my full fundraising commitment to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
- $ 2,500 helps a low-income woman or man overcome medical, financial, and social obstacles during a breast cancer diagnosis, with guidance and support from an Avon Patient Navigator
- $ 5,000 covers the cost of a surgical breast biopsy for an uninsured patient
Any amount helps – the minimum is $ 5. Thanks so much for your support.
